Bernadette Peters
Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American singer and actress. She has appeared on television, film, musical theatre and solo concerts, as well as on recorded recordings. Her career spans over six years. She is a highly regarded Broadway performerwho has received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, which she won three. Grammy Awards have been won in four of the Broadway productions that she has appeared in.
Peters is widely regarded as the most famous interpreter of the works written by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
